Who can apply for a payday loan?

We want to offer payday loans to all Australians who need them. However, we are also a responsible lender, and will only provide loans in instances where it is responsible to do so. Because of this, we do have some restrictions on who can apply for a loan and when they can do so.

To apply with Club Money, you must be an Australian resident, aged 18 or over, with a take home income of at least $1000 per a month. You must also have 100 points of ID and a bank account in your name. Unfortunately, we cannot process loans where income is derived solely from Centrelink.

You can apply even if you have a bad credit history. However, we will not be able to issue a loan if you have more than one other Small Amount Credit Contract (SACC) active. Additionally, we cannot offer you a loan if your bank statements show multiple reversals/dishonours of direct debit payments to other lenders in the preceding 90 days. You can view our full requirements here.

Payday loans

What is a payday loan?

A Club Money payday loan is a short-term loan of between $250 and $1500. They're called payday loans because they're often paid back on the following payday. They can, however, be paid back with regular payments over the course of 16 to 180 days.

Unlike with traditional bank loans and credit cards, we do not charge compound interest on our loans. Payday loans instead charges fees, including an establishment fee of 20% of the principal (the amount borrowed), as well as a monthly fee of 4% of the principal.

Penalty fees may also apply for late or missed repayments, but these can be waived in some instances. For full fee details check out our fee statement. You can also call us for more information regarding any of our fees or services.

When can I apply?

Club Money is an online only service, so applications are not restricted to the opening hours of a traditional bricks and mortar store. As long as you have an internet-enabled smartphone, tablet, or computer, you can apply with Club Money any time, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Provided you meet our loan requirements, you can apply with us in just minutes. All you need is some personal details and identification. During normal working hours, we can get back to you regarding approval in as little as 30 minutes. If you apply late in the day or over the weekend, we'll contact you early on the next business day.

Once approved, we'll transfer your loan amount into your chosen account straight away. However, transfer time will depend on your bank. If you're with a major bank like Westpac or NAB, your money could be with you within hours. If you're with a smaller bank or credit union, the transfer may take one to two days.
